Mayor Dan Peeples

Mayor Dan Peeples, has lived in the City of Varnell for several years and has a enthusiastic passion for Varnell. Mayor Peeples has a vision to see Varnell grow and prosper into one of the best cities in Northwest Georgia.

Dan is married to Katie Kinnamon Peeples. Dan is the son of Julian and Jane Peeples of Dalton. Dan is vice president of Julian Peeples Funeral Home and president of Peeples Monument Services.

Mayor Peeples educational background consists of graduating Northwest Whitfield High School in 1996, graduating from the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and a degree in Mortuary Science from Gupton Jones College. "I took this role as Mayor of Varnell because I want to see this City grow and truly take care of its citizens. We have so much potential here in our City. The land is beautiful and the people are fantastic. There is no where else I would rather live. I am proud of our police force, our employees, our city council, and all of the other citizens who actively participate in making Varnell a wonderful city".

Mayor Peeples attends Grove Level Baptist Church and is very active in the Young Couples Sunday School class. Dan’s hobbies are spending time at his cabin in Ellijay, watching football with his buddies, supporting Northwest High School athletics, taking his wife out on dates, and staying involved with his fraternity alumni association. Dan is a proud member of the Chi Phi Fraternity at University of West Georgia and the Order of Omega leadership fraternity.

Mayor Peeples and his wife Katie are still celebrating the birth of their son, Nathan.
